About the role

Operating in a key role, the Senior Marketing Manager, will report to the Head of Growth, and work closely with other members of Turaco’s global leadership team. The Senior Marketing Manager will be a seasoned marketing strategist providing direction on enhancing Turaco’s brand presence and driving marketing strategies.

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead and develop lean country teams to implement marketing activities. This is an exciting growth opportunity to be at the forefront of an innovative insurance technology company. We’re looking for a results-oriented creative thinker, who is able to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced startup environment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy: in collaboration with the leadership team, work alongside country marketing leads to develop Turaco’s marketing strategy and lead the execution of the plan and tracking of the performance of agreed growth goals. This strategy will enhance Turaco’s brand as a key insure-tech player and promote the company's overarching acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with country General Managers, business development, and partnership teams to ensure marketing strategy and activities drive key sales growth goals for B2B and B2B2C sales channels. Identify opportunities to enhance partnerships through creative sales/engagement outreach and co-marketing activities.
  • PR and Communications: Drive Turaco’s external and customer-facing communications including website, social media, and press releases.
  • Creative Direction: support junior marketing team members in managing the design and production of materials for artwork, promotional campaigns, and social media posts. Negotiate and manage relationships with third-party marketing agencies or freelancers.
  • Brand Management: ensure company brand image and message is strong and consistent across all communication channels.
  • Reporting: tracking the effectiveness of marketing activities and reporting findings to the leadership team
  • Team Management: provide management and mentorship of marketing team’s performance and development; set, monitor, and report team goals.
  • Internal Communications: work alongside the People Operations team to drive internal company communications that highlight our impact, team, values, and culture.

Key Qualifications & Your Profile

  • Live Turaco’s values – care and protect our customers, do the right thing, and have fun!
  • 5+ years of professional marketing experience, with experience in a management role. Start-up or entrepreneurial experience is a plus!
  • Experienced in driving strategy and brand development, particularly within the startup space
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work across multiple teams, navigation ambiguity, thinking creatively and strategically on how to enhance brand presence and achieve sales growth
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves, getting into the weeds to ensure the job gets done
  • You value collaboration and helping team members excel
  • Really, seriously detail-oriented
